Today was a normal day like usual. Today, the bus 87 was slightly late. But, it’s okay.
Finally, I reached the school. I waited in the quadrangle for a while before the flag-raising starts. After that, our vice-principal told us about the results of the O-levels. He told us that the average of the results is 12.4. Anyway, for the O-level, the lower the marks are the better the results is. So, that’s still good. He also told us that our school improved 2 marks every year. After that, the bell rang which meant that it’s time for our lesson so we went back to our classroom. We waited for a while before the teacher comes. Anyway, today we needed to pass up our composition. Which composition? It is the one that I had just posted. ;) Anyway, I hope I get good marks for that. Anyway, my cousin, Yong Yi, also took the O-level this year. He is considering which poly he should go.
Anyway, everyone work hard and get good results. Hiaxx… Next week is the Class test week already. Sounds funny right? We must do well in the class test. :) Okay, that’s all, Bye! And also have a great weekend! :D

Thursday, January 24, 2008Hallow everyone! Long time never post. Anyone miss me? Just Joking! Now everyone is really busy with studies including me. But, I still come and post even though it is not very often. This is a composition I wrote. Hope you like it. Actually, this is my homework too!
A frightening experience
Whenever I saw my book, Phantom Horse, I will remember vividly a frightening experience. It happened when I was seven years old. This is what happened……
“Amabel and June, your father and I are going to our friend’s wedding. We’ll be home by midnight. Amabel, take good care of your sister, June.” said my mother cheerfully.
June and I nodded our head before waving goodbye to our parents. I went to my bedroom to continue reading my book while June went to my parents’ room to play. When I was reading the most interesting part of my story, I heard some creaking and cracking sound from my parents’ room. It disturbed my reading. I was furious about it.
“What is my naughty sister, June, up to now? I should teach her a lesson for being so naughty. But I am going to check what is she is up to. After all, she is still my sister.” I said to myself.
I tiptoed to my parents’ room and peep in. the sight made me shivered with fright. I saw a dark figure grabbing my sister. The person then pointed a shiny sharp knife on my sister’s neck.
“Tell me where your parents keep their valuables. All else I will kill you.” the robber demanded.
My sister is only 5 years old and she didn’t know what the robber is talking about. She thought that a mystery man came and scolded her for nothing. For that, hot tears stream down her cheeks.
“Stop crying and tell me!” roared the robber.
While he said this, he pointed the knife harder on June’s neck. Little blood began streaming down her neck. June began to cry louder than ever.
“What am I going to do? June is in grave danger. I need to help her. What am I going to do?” I whispered to myself.
I was scared out of my wit. I tried to calm myself down. Then, I remembered that I could call the police. But, the phone was at the robber’s sight. Suddenly, I saw a lizard climbing down the wall. The robber saw this and began to move away from it. Then I thought that he had zoophobia. . I hustle to my room quietly to take my hamster. Then, I took it to the room. Before that, I told my trained obedient hamster to go and let the robber see.
Suddenly, I heard a loud scream. It was not from my sister but the robber. The robber let go of June. Then I signaled her to come to me. The robber ran around to hide from my hamster. Finally, he fainted. I told my sister to bring back my hamster into its cage while I dialed ‘999’ for the police. After that, I informed my parents about it. After five minutes, the police came and arrested the robber.
Even though this had happened a few years ago, I still remember it vividly and gave me a fright when I remembered.

Saturday, January 19, 2008On 18th January 2008, I went to 2 auditions. I went to Info club’s audition as it is at 1.15p.m., while another audition is at 1.30p.m.
I don't like the teacher-in-charge of that CCA loh. First, they will ask you to write a form about your primary school CCA, what skills you know and what are the things you know. After that, you passed it to the seniors and they ask you some questions about the things you know. My classmates said it is very hard, but I think it is really easy. After that, I found out that it almost 2p.m. I and Joey immediately told the teacher-in-charge, Mr. Goh, to let us go early as we need to go to the Band auditions. He told us to wait for a while. After that, we took the form to him. I let Joey go first. After that, then I go. I told Joey to wait for me outside the Computer Room 3. The questions that Mr. Goh asked that made me don’t like him. First, he asked why I wanted to join this club. This question is still okay. I told him that I wanted to join as I wanted to improve my IT skills. Then, he asked why I wanted to improve my IT skills. -_- Then, he asked me if I need to put my 3 choices of my CCA now, which CCA would be m y first choice. I had made some changes to my CCA choices; I may change sometime later too! The latest results of the CCA choices are: 1st choice Multi-Media Club, 2nd choice Band and 3rd choice Library. I didn’t put the Info Club because of the teacher-in-charge. ;) Anyway, we still need to go online to register the results of our final choices. :D After, Mr. Goh look very unhappy that I didn’t put the Info Club the first choice and he kept saying it is fair to others and whatever. After that, I run to the Band room. Actually, Joey had already gone to the Band audition on Wednesday already but she wanted to accompany me. She waited for me in the canteen while I go to the Band Room.
But, when I went to the 2nd floor, I could not find the Band room. But, I heard a lot of instruments playing in the Audio and Visual Room. I thought it is another CCA. Then, I saw a group of people with the instruments. After that, I saw a person very familiar. Then, I remembered. It is Chin Bee from 2E. She came to our group last year during the P6 Transition Camp. Remember? She asked me why was I here. I told her that I wanted to go to the Band audition but I could not find the room. She was really happy when she heard it. She immediately pulls me and brings me to the room. After that, I tried to play the flute and the trumpet. But, it is too hard. Then, finally, I could play an instrument which is the Trombone. Givone from 3F taught me and another boy to do so.
Anyway, Amabel, I will go back to Punggol Primary school on Monday after school. More than 10 ppl is going. Make appointments with tr liao. She verriii happy loh. Okay, that’s all bye!

Tuesday, January 15, 2008Expectation in Secondary School
Life in a Secondary School will be a great pressure. Homework will confirm be more and more! Time management is needed for us to planned our time as there will be homework, CCAs and remedial/tuition. We will be busier, perhaps like a bee. Even though we will be busy, we must also ‘squeeze’ some time out to give ourselves self-study and exercises. We must also IMPROVE and tried to do our best. If we not, we will be maybe go to Normal (Academics) or retain Secondary 1. Life in Secondary School is confirmed different from primary school. CCAs will be compulsorily in Secondary School. There are so many CCAs that I do not know which to choose. There will be new things like CCA POINTS. So, we need not only be good in our study, we must also accumulate CCA Points. So, we must find a good CCA that is an interest to us. Another reason is that we will need to stick to that CCA for four years. So, that’s all about my expectations!

Hi! Yesterday (13th January 2008), I went to Hougang Secondary to take my Edusave Merit Bursary. I was in the top 25% so I gotten this. The Edusave Merit Bursary gave me $200. It is a cash cheque. When I reached there, I found out there were many people. I went to register first. After that, I waited for the time for us to go up to the hall. Suddenly, someone called me. It was Krystal. We gave each other a high five. But, she wasn't wearing the school uniform. Oh! She didn't take the bursary. It is her brother who took. He is Secondary 3. Then, I saw a group that look so familar. I remembered now. They were from P6-10 (2007). Of course not the whole class lah. :) I also saw one of my classmates from my current class. Last year, he is from P6-8. The weather is really humid but we still could not go up the hall. Finally, the ppl there told us that we can go up. I sat at a seat. Suddenly, I saw See Hui. She sat in the 2nd row in front of m. Since there is a empty seat beside of me, See Hui came and sat there. We had a good chat. She went into Zhonghua Secondary. She told me that her CCA is Chinese Orchestra and she is chosen to play the Erhu. But, she need to buy itwhich will cost her $300 to $400. Isn't it expensive? I better not choose that CCA! (Psss.... I had not chosen my CCA till now. Ha Ha! Still don't know which CCA to choose. Hiaxx....) We also took pictures together. I hope we will still keep in touch. She also gave me her handphone number. Okay, that's all for yesterday events!

Friday, January 11, 2008Hallow all! It's me again!!! Hiaxx... Still got a lot of homework lol. :( Today, I went to the bus-stop. Guess what? I saw my Chinese teacher, 陈老师! She was really happy when she saw me. I was happy too! Today, Zefris called me. She asked me whether if I wanted to go back to Punggol Primary School this Tuesday with some of our classmates. I was happy to do so and I was really looking forward to that day. :) Then, surprising, I thought I had heard two voices in the phone. I was not wrong. Zefris had connected me, Sandy and her phone together so we could talk. That’s a pretty good idea. Anyway, we had a pretty good chat! We are trying to get some of the pupils from P6-7 (2007) to see if they wanted to go back to Punggol primary to see our ex-teachers and see if our school got any changes. It is also a chance to see each other. Oh Yes! I can have a chance to see Zhi Wei, Zhi Yu, Amabel, and Hui Xin. By the way, we will be there after 2p.m. and we will meet at the front gate together. D Actually, I had already seen my 2 ex-teacher today already! :)
Anyway, I had good news to share with you. I just received a letter that said I have been awarded the Edusave Merit Bursary 2007. Actually, this is according to last year (P6), results. I am in the Top 25 of the stream! Yahoo! Yeah! Yippee. This ceremony will be held at Hougang Secondary School on Sunday, 13th January 2008 at 11a.m. isn’t it great? Anyway, Mr. Teo Ser Luck will present a cash voucher to me! :P Yeah! Okay, that’s all, bye!

Cài (Simplified and Traditional Chinese: 蔡) is a Chinese surname that derives from the name of the ancient Cai state. It's regionally more common in China's Fujian Province and in countries settled by ethnic Chinese from that province than in China as a whole. The surname is the 34th most common surname in China[1], but the 9th most common in Taiwan, where it is usually romanized as Tsai[2], and the 8th most common in Singapore, where it is usually romanized as Chua[3].
The Cais are said to be the descendants of the 5th son of King Wu of the Zhou Dynasty (9th century BC – 256 BC), Ji Du. Ji Du was awarded the title of marquis (hóu) of the State of Cai (centered on what is now Shangcai, Zhumadian, Henan, China), and he was known as Cai Shudu ("Uncle Cai"). Together with Guan Shu and Huo Shu, they were known as the Three Guards. When King Wu died, his son King Cheng was too young and his uncle, the Duke of Zhou, became regent. Seeing that the power of the Duke of Zhou was increasing, the Three Guards got jealous and rebelled against Zhou together with Wu Geng. The Duke of Zhou suppressed the rebellion, and Cai Shu was exiled. King Cheng reestablished Cai Shu’s son Wu as the Duke of Cai. Some 600 years later in the Warring States Period, the State of Chu conquered Cai in 447 BC and was itself conquered by the Qin state which, in turn, formed the Qin Empire, China's first empire. With the spread of family names to all social classes in the new empire, many people of the former state of Cai began to bear it as a surname.
The Cais descendants have undertaken two major migrations. During the Huang Chao Rebellion (AD 875) at the end of the Tang Dynasty (AD 618-907), the Cai clan migrated to Guangdong and Fujian provinces. Another later migration occurred when Ming Dynasty loyalist Koxinga moved military officials surnamed Cai and their families to Taiwan in the 17th century. As a result, the surname is far more common in these areas and in areas settled by their descendants (e.g., Southeast Asia) than in other parts of China.
Cai is written the same (蔡) in both simplified and traditional Chinese characters.
In Mandarin Chinese, the surname is transliterated as Cài in pinyin and Tongyong Pinyin, Ts'ai in Wade-Giles, and Tsay in Gwoyeu Romatzyh. In Minnan or Taiwanese, it is Chhoà in Pe̍h-oē-jī. In Cantonese, it is Coi3 in Jyutping and Choi in Yale. (This should not be confused with the predominantly Korean family name Choi which has a different Chinese character [崔]). Koreans use Chinese-derived family names and in Korean, Cai is 채 in Hangul, Chae in Revised Romanization, and Ch'ae in McCune-Reischauer. Vietnamese also use Chinese-derived family names and in Vietnamese, it is Thái or Sái. Japanese do not use Chinese family names but for Chinese in Japan who carry the name, it is さい in Hiragana and Sai in the major romanization systems.
Cai is romanized as Cai in the People's Republic of China, Tsai (or occasionally Tsay or Chai) in the Republic of China (Taiwan), and Choi or Choy in Hong Kong. In Malaysia, Singapore, and Brunei, the most common forms are Chua for Hokkien and Teochew speakers, Chai for Hakka speakers, and Choy for Cantonese speakers. In Indonesia it is usually romanized as Tjoa and in the Philippines it is Chua or Cua.
Other variations include Chye, Coi, Toy, and Tsoi.
In addition, some of the Cais who resided in the Philippines adopted Spanish names to avoid persecution by the Spanish rulers during the Philippines' Spanish colonial rule from the early 16th to late 19th century. Examples of these are Mercado, which means "Market" in Spanish and was adopted by Domingo Lam-Co (he chose this name to remind his descendants of their trader way of life), and Rizal, which was adopted by Domingo Lam-Co's great-grandson, Francisco Mercado (who was also the father of Philippine national hero, Jose Rizal).
