Thursday, May 29, 2008Hi there everyone! It’s me once again!!! Yahoo!Anyway, I got my report book back. hiaxx... I only got 5 distintions. I actually aimed to get 6 distintion lor. :( Anyway, i will do better next time. I was the number 10 in the class )Yeah! Anyway, I was happy with my results already. this time, the first is Kit Hung. He got 5 distintion and most of them is A1 which help him win the others who got 6 distintion. Anyway, I still had to go back to the school every Monday and Friday for CCA( Band).
We also had the IT enrichment lesson. My class attends it at 2nd June 2008, from 0800 hours until 1030 hours which is 2.5 hours. We are the first class among the secondary one to have this lesson. Yeah! It will be conducted at Mac Lab at Level three. It is to equip us Podcast skill for project work, expressing option and voice recording. It is compulsory for us to attend unless we are going overseas. If we are going overseas, the person had to bring a photo copy set of his passport or his pass port to let Mr. See look at it.
On the 3rd June, there will be a half-day Life Science Enricchment programme for us. It covers the basic DNA skills and genetics. We will also learn the basic of technique of extracting DNA from fruits and the making if an edible DNA model. It is from 0900 hours till 1130 hours. It will be held at the School Hall or the Science Laboratory.
i am so happy that holidaysis here! But, have manyhomework & Project. hiaxx.........

Hi there everyone! It’s me once again!!! Today we had our Cross-Country which means that we had to run 3km today!!! For the Cross-Country, we had to run at the Bishan Park.
When we reached the school, I drank lots and lots of water as I am afraid that while running I will feel thirsty. You can’t bring a water bottle with you while you are running right? Anyway, as I had told you that the Secondary 1 is running as the second batch, it was better. The first batch which is the Secondary 4 and 5 went to Bishan Park right after the assembly. The others put their bags at their classroom. After that, we went to the hall. Yeah! There are air-conditional there and it is so cooling. But, that’s not so long though. After a while, it is our time to go to Bishan Park. We went to the front gate to wait for the bus to come. My class was separated into two small buses. The first buses had most of the boys there. Mr. See was with us in the second bus. That’s bad as he kept taking his camera out to take our photos. But, he failed! Ha! We were too clever and fast! When we just got in the bus, Mr. See told us to fasten our seatbelts as the bus is moving. Then, we ask him where the seatbelts are! :D Anyway, I sat with Hui Ni in the bus. We were all hoping that there would be a traffic jam and raining. But, not all of our wishes fulfilled. There was a traffic jam, but there was still no raining and we still need to run. Wahhh… Hiaxx… When we reached there, we find the other half of our class. Finally, we found them. We sat down and waited for the other Secondary 1 classes to arrive.
Very soon, all of them arrive. Then, we sat there and listen to what Mr. Raffi, Mr. Ong (our principal), and Miss Toh had to say. Then, the Secondary 1 boys started running first. Once, they had cleared the starting point. It was our time to start running. At first, I was in the middle of the group. I wanted to catch up, but, my left ankle start to be painful. But, At least I will still finish the race. There was 2 basketball girls and form teacher from 1C. They are always encouraging us. The form teacher from 1C was very funny. She said, “You all not need to run if you are tired. Just walk fast. You see, I am so old already. You all must be faster than me. Remember, a crazy teacher is behind you. So, better walk fast! Haha! Anyway, I ran with some of my friends from 1A and 1H. But, finally, I reached the ending point. Yeah! I am so happy. It was really fun, but tiring. It was not as hard as I thought. Anyway, Hui Ni felt a headache after running and half way of the running.
Sara got 1st! Yeah! A lot of my classmates got the Top 60!

Tuesday, May 20, 2008Why do Roses have thorns?
The Scientist says:
Most of us called them thorns but to be scientifically correct, they are actually ‘prickles’. They are actually not true thorns, like those hat you fins on a citrus tree, ‘Prickles’ are small stubs of growth from the epidermis (the outer layer of the stem’s tissue) whereas ‘thorns’ are actually part of the stem itself. ‘Thorns’ always appear at nodes of a stem, just as leaves do.
Roses’ prickles are useful in helping them fend off animals that want to graze on them. Predators may have chewed off the tasty flowers but they will definitely stop short once they change upon any prickles. This way, the rose stays alive and can grow again.
Don’t be surprised, but there are roses that are thornless. These include those of Bzephirine Drouhin, Kathleen Harrop, and Reine des Violettes variety
Roman mythology has it that there was a maiden by the name of Rodanthe. She was so beautiful that she had hordes of suitors calling at her door. She was unmoved by their ardent pledges of love. To escape the amorous attention of her suitors, she took refuge in the Temple of Diana. Her suitors followed in relentless pursuit. Their hearts got the better of their heads, and they tore down the doors of the temple, in a bid to get closer to their object of desirer. The Goddess, Diana was furious. She then turned Rodanthe into a rose and her suitors into the thorns surrounding her.

7 Days a week
On Monday I feel really good
For I am off to school like every child should
Tuesday is when I get to learn gymnastics
I can swing from one bar to the other
And it feels really fantastic!
On Wednesday I attend language class
I want to do well and pass
Thursday is best of all
I can get a chance to play football
Friday is when I learn to play a trumpet
It is also a day when I can play with my pets
Saturday I wake up at dawn
Today I am helping daddy mow the lawn
Sunday! Oh great! My parents are taking me to a movie
We are also going to have a picnic by the sea
Singapore River
She cuts through the heart of Singapore
The Singapore River at night is so pretty!
The centre for commerce and trade for many decades
Our love for the Singapore River will never fade
Easily recognizable at the mouth of the river is a
Statue of a half-fish, half-lion
This mythical beast is named……

As we walk along the river
We recall many fond memories

The Singapore River has shaped our destinies

FINALLY, today is the last day of Mid-Year examination! I am so happy about it. Would you be happy too if you were I? Of course, you would. Imagine that you were having exams for almost two weeks and finally it finished! Now, everyone could relax after the exams. I may be happy about finishing the exams, but I still had two projects not done! The two projects are the Art and Science project. Hiaxx… Anyway, we only need to wait for the results of the examination. Tomorrow will be marking day! There will be no school. However, we only had one marking day. Hiaxx… Other schools had two marking days. Never mind… at least it is better than there are no marking day! :) Anyway, today we had our Mathematics Paper 2.
The Mathematics Paper 2 that I am having today is from 0759 hours until 0929 hours, which is one and a half hours. I finished 0835 hours, which means I took thirty-six minutes to finish the paper. Anyway, there are eight pages in the Mathematics Paper, so that is really less. Anyway, I expected more pages though.
Yeah! Anyway, just before the exams, Mr. See then gave a newsletter. We then have to put it under our tables. -_- Anyway, the newsletter is that we need to go back to school to attend an ‘Apple Podcast’ lesson. Sounds great! I like it! ;) Anyway, it’s in the June holiday. Some of my classmates can’t attend it as they are going overseas. Hey! Tomorrow is Mother’s Day. Even though we are busy preparing our examination, we must not forget our mother who always care about us. When we are growing, who always take every care of our needs? >.<> Who is that gave us all the comfort when we are down? That’s our mother who forever loves us without condition. Great mother love, always so constant, boundless and also eternal. She is also the world’s most patient teacher; forever accompany us, comforting us when we are down. So, please remember all these things and many more that our mother had done for us. Let your mother be happy by doing something good on that day.
