Sunday, January 6, 2008Hi there, everyone! I’m back! Sorry that I did not write a post for so long. I had just returned from the Secondary 1 Orientation Camp. It is from 3rd till 5th January 2008. I had lots of fun there. On the 1st day, we need to go to school at the usual time. As it was raining on that day, we went to the classroom first. After a while, we went to the hall to line up according to our class. There are only Secondary 1s in the hall, the other level are at the Quadrangle. Do you know what the Quadrangle is? It is the Parade Ground. Then, we had the assembly. After that, we need to surrender all our electronics devices. Then, it’s the principal address. We also had a presentation on the school expectation. It was long. It took about 50minutes! Next we went to the canteen to have our breakfast. But, before that we need to go back to our classroom to take our cups. We had a Pandan cake, a curry puff, and a cup of Milo each. It was delicious. Yummy! I like the curry puff the most. After our breakfast, we went back to our classroom to put back our cups. Did I tell you that we had some student councilors per class? For our class, we had 4 councilors. We then had the Ice breaking games. It was fun! We played for an hour, and then we went back to the hall. We seen some presentations and
done some hands-on activity. It is mostly about how we act in conflicts and learning styles. I found out that I tend to use Compromising (Fox) conflict strategy more frequently and I tend to use the Confronting (Owl) and Forcing (Shark)
conflict strategies less frequently. Then, we went for our lunch. After that, we heard a talk about BGR. He He! I will not tell you what BGR is! You can go and find out yourself. ;) Then, it’s time for games! Yeah! We played the ‘Game of Life’. We played for one and a half hours. Then, we went back to our classroom. It’s our bathing time. Since we are class 1F and class 1A go first, we still need to wait for a long time. The bathing time for girls is 4minutes and 3 minutes for boys. That’s what’s the teacher said so. :) Anyway, we draw to see who will go to the toilet first when it’s time for us to go. I was in the first batch, the 2nd one! Yeah! :D The bad thing is that when I just when in the toilet, the councilor started banging on the door! I shouted that I had just when in. Then, she finally stopped banging. Oh yes! Tell you something interesting. 3 councilors helped us to wash our hairs. Then, we had our dinner and watched a mini concert. Then, it’s lights out.
2nd day… (4th January 2008
We need to wake up at 6a.m. But, I woke up at 5.30a.m. Then, we went to the quadrangle to do some exercise. Hiaxx… Then, we had the assembly. Then, we went to eat our breakfast. We then played in the Inter-class Captain Ball. Each class had 4 teams and I am in the 4th team. We managed to be the 2nd of all the teams. Actually, winning isn’t important. The most important is to have fun! But, I am still happy about getting 2nd! After that, we had our lunch. Then, we went back to class and we started preparing for the Cheer Competition. We decided that we called ourselves, 1Fearless. Next we need to think of a cheer with it. After that, it’s bathing time. Did I tell you that there was Parents’ night on that day? Do you know what Parents’ night is? It is a night when our parents are invited to come. As there was Parents night, we had an early dinner at 4p.m. Isn’t it too early? We only had 20 minutes to eat. So, we end up wasting the food. Anyway, we still had supper on that day. Then we went back to the hall to have our rehearsal. After that, we sat there waiting for the time and the parents to come. At 6p.m., we started the Parents' night. First, there was the Chinese Dance. Then, the Principal's Address and the Choir. There were also some presentations. Finally, it's the Cheer Competition........But, we did not win any prizes though. Then, we went back to our classroom to play some class games. After that, we had our supper. At 10.30p.m., Lights out!
3rd Day... 5th January 2008
Today, it's the usual. We need to wake up at 6a.m., but this time I slept till 5.59a.m. :) Then, we had exercise. Then, we had our breakfast. After that, it's the CCA Orientation. All the councilors tried to call us to join their different kind of CCA, so basically they are shouting there. We need to choose 3 choices of the CCAs. But, we had not submitted the form as we had not taken it! :) The 3 choices of mine are Library, Multimedia Club, and Infocomm Club. After that, the councilors debrief us and break camp! Yeah! Okay, gotta go! Bye!
