Opening of the Fo Guang Shan
佛光山
(8th June 2008)
佛光山
Hi there! It's me again! On 8th June 2008, I went to the Opening of the Fo Guang Shan. It was located at Punggol so I just need to take around 5 minutes in the bus 82. When I reached there, I had a big shock. There are a lot of people there. As it is still early, the people there did not allow us to go in into the temple. But, from the outside, we could see that the temple was really big and nice. It is painted with white. Then, I went to the opposite side of the road. There is another event there from Fo Guan Shan. There is free vegetarian food there too. But, from the packaging, it looked more like Japanese food, only that it is vegetarian... :P Anyway, there is also pudding. Yum Yum! Anyway, do you want to know what is in the vegetarian food I had gotten? Do not worry as I will tell you. :) Anyway, there is a pile of yummy noodles, then vegetarian-made meat only that one of them is fried and another is with tomato sauce. Then, there is two sushi. Yummy! In the whole packaging, I like the sushi the most. I think you will like the sushi too if you had gotten a chance to eat it. Then, there are a lot of steam peas. Of course, to let the meal be balanced, there are fruits... There are a piece of Guava, a grape and dried papaya. Then, I saw something amazing. It is ginger that is PINK!!! But, of course, I didn't eat it. I don't like ginger though, as you know. :) Anyway, there are also some free souvenirs. Woah! The souvenir was so nice! It is a crystal ball with keychain. And then, in the crystal ball, there is the Buddha and the word'佛光山' on it. And it was like made of tiny bubbles. I like it very much. It is put in a red box. Anyway, there is also a something like a concert and some people are singing. Finally, it was 1.30p.m., and we all can go into the temple. Do you know how many levels are there in Fo Guang Shan? Let me tell you! There are a total of 4 levels!!! I started ‘exploring’ from the 4th level. There are restaurant there for the people there. On the 3rd floor, there is a place for the people to eat and the 2nd floor is the library. When my father took a book of the history of the Fo Guang Shan and with the three souvenirs and took the picture, the people there was like kept looking at him. Then, an auntie (about my grandmother’s age) came to ask my father where he had gotten the souvenirs. As my father was busying taking photos, he told the place. Then, the auntie rushed off without listening all what my father had said. If she had listened, she would not need to waste her effort to go there. The sentence she didn’t listen is that the souvenirs all had been given. Okay, that’s all bye!
